The film’s story, including a gathering of got away mental patients, is more critical, in that characters and subplots are very much created. The carnage and homicide increase the plot, however don’t divert from the convincing story. Blackburn is an astute and shocking blood and guts movie, which ought not be missed.
The film has one and only hiccup, in this current viewer’s assessment. There is a touch of naming in Act I. ADR is this film fan’s one outstanding irritation. Poor ADR can divert and deconstruct the truth of a film. That does not by any stretch of the imagination happen here, however. This film fan has seen whole movies with its sound recorded for a moment time; it is not a pretty sight. Luckily, the stumbles in the Blackburn soundtrack just happen infrequently. Too, the ADR is practically consistent and difficult to see, unless you have a prepared eye. This one impairment ought not keep awfulness fans from seeing this amazing title.
